DERMA-E Is Quality Skincare With A Conscience

Skincare routines have long evolved from basic soap and water. We have more skincare choices today than ever before, but sometimes finding even a simple skincare product can be overwhelming. Where do you begin and what should you look for in order to find safe and healthy products for your skin?

We all know her skin has a beautiful, natural glow which, of course, made us want to learn more about DERMA-E and sample a few of their products. Below is our take on each of the products we tried:

  

DERMA-E Sun Defense Mineral Oil-Free Sunscreen ($19.75)

We didn't think it was possible to fall in love with a sunscreen, but here we are! DERMA-E Sun Defense Mineral Oil-Free Sunscreen offers a world of good in skin care. It has broad spectrum SPF30, delivers anti-aging antioxidant defense, and is 100% unscented. 

The Skin Cancer Foundation has stated that more than 90% of the visible skin changes associated with aging are caused by the sun's ultra-violet rays.  

We certainly can agree that protecting our skin from cancer and wrinkles is extremely important, and so is protecting the environment. DERMA-E Sun Defense Mineral Oil-Free Sunscreen is reef safe. That means DERMA-E Oil-Free Sunscreen contains Non-Nano Mineral Zinc Oxide which is 100% safe for coral reefs. Oxybenzone and octinoxate are two of the chemicals found in many sunscreens that are toxic to coral reefs and marine life. Hawaii recently passed a bill banning the use of sunscreens with these chemicals.  

The oil-free formula is milky white out of the tube and quickly disappears when applied to the skin. We were impressed with the odorless, ultra-light formula and silky smooth skin left behind, thanks to fantastic skin treats, Vitamin E and Green Tea, added to hydrate and soothe skin. The Broad spectrum SPF30 offered great protection from the harsh sun on our latest trip to the Mediterranean and is our new must-have sunscreen. 

NOTE: Regardless of the season, sunscreen is a must to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun. We all love sunny days, but even in winter, sun damage can cause wrinkles and worse, skin cancer.

DERMA-E Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser ($13.75)

This naturally exfoliating cleanser is sulfate-free and is formulated to wash away dirt, oil, and makeup, leaving skin feeling invigorated. The clear facial cleanser also contains skin-renewing Vitamin A and exfoliating Glycolic Acid and Papaya.

We found the pump dispensed approximately a quarter-sized amount of liquid cleanser. The amount was adequate enough to wash the entire face and neck. The cleanser worked into a light, sudsy lather that rinsed clean and left our skin feeling fresh and clean. 

DERMA-E Acne Deep Pore Cleansing Wash ($15.50)

This cleanser reduces breakouts by cleansing away pore-clogging dirt, bacteria, and built-up oil. A purifying Anti-Blemish Complex including Tea Tree Oil and Willow Bark Extract soothes and balances skin.

The cleanser worked well on my daughter's oily, sensitive skin. The clear formula gently cleansed her skin with no irritation. The pump dispenser dispenses an adequate amount to cleanse the entire face and rinses clean without any residue.

DERMA-E Very Clear Acne Spot Treatment ($11.50)

The DERMA-E Spot Treatment contains 2% Salicylic Acid and ingredients such as lavender and aloe vera to calm and soothe acne-prone skin.

The Spot Treatment got a thumbs up from my daughter who has an occasional (once a month) blemish. Note: If the product is too strong for sensitive skin, limit use to every other day.
