7 Tricks to Make Your Bathroom Appear Larger!

Is a small bathroom cramping your style? We've rounded up some tips and tricks to make your small bathroom appear larger!

1. Add depth with mirrors. Mirrors instantly make a bath feel larger. Place mirrors strategically across from a window to reflect light and visually open the space in your bathroom. In my daughter's bathroom, I placed a mirror above her vanity to reflect the outdoors. It is hard to see the outdoor reflection in the photo (below), but she can see it when she is sitting at her vanity.

2. Bring the outdoors in! Windows add natural light and make your bathroom appear larger. If you are concerned with privacy, add a translucent shade that can be draw when necessary, and still let the light shine through.

3.  Add glass, lucite or acrylic shelving to maximize vertical or horizontal space without taking up visual space. Shelving placed high up on a wall will emphasize height in your bathroom. Whenever the eye is drawn up, it will make a room feel larger. Horizontal shelving will make your bathroom feel longer. Take note and be careful where you place your clear shelving. I've bumped into my glass shelving more times than I care to count. {smile}

4. The right white. Did you know that the color white comes in cool or warm tones? If  you choose a cooler white, the walls will recede, a warmer white will make the bathroom cozy. Lighter colors will open a space and make the room feel light and airy, but pay attention to cool and warm tones too.

5. Keep everything in the same color scheme when possible.  Choose light colored paint for walls, cabinets, bathtub and flooring to create a visually cohesive look and feel to your bathroom. Darker colors will attract attention. Think of them as accent pieces in your bathroom.

6. Resist the temptation to add too many little things to your small bathroom which will visually clutter your space. Only display items such as a soap dispenser, cotton balls, etc. that are functional and serve a purpose.

7. Think BIG in a small bathroom. One large statement piece will actually make a bathroom appear larger and decrease visual clutter. One of the hottest design trends today is the freestanding tub, which adds instant "WOW" factor to any size bathroom. As you'll see below, there's more "WOW" to these stunning bathtubs and washbasins than just their looks!

WETSTYLE has united both art and science together to create its spectacular bathtubs and washbasins. Their tubs and basins are not only stunning in appearance, their eco-friendly too! All of W2 by WETSTYLE bathtubs and washbasins are made of WETMAR BIOTM. It's an eco-friendly thermo-insulating material made from a organic mix of Mother Earth's natural ingredients - soy and mineral stone! It is non-porous and more durable than acrylic. And is also slip resistant, reparable, lightweight, and exceptionally strong! When I first learned of W2 brand, I instantly fell in love with them!

Needless to say, it is certainly an exciting time to revamp your bathroom with the purest and most environmentally friendly bathtubs and washbasins. I was excited when we purchased my daughter's carrara countertop in her bathroom several years ago, only to find out that even when factory sealed, marble is porous and can leave marks and stains. W2 by WETSTYLE's non-porous material is hands down the better choice and is available in gorgeous, ultra sleek Glossy or Matte Apollo White finishes!

W2 by WETSTYLE had me at hello with its eco-friendly showpiece bathtubs and washbasins. A stunning statement and environmentally friendly choice for any size bathroom!

    1. Hi Sarah-Louise, If it is very small (too small for a bathtub and no windows), try one very large mirror. I did that it my half bath and it doesn't feel as claustrophobic anymore! :)

  3. I agree about too many tabletop items creating clutter, but will make an exception for something useful and decorative. The lidded pineapple container mentioned in an earlier blog would work in your daughter's bathroom color scheme for cotton balls or hair ties.
