Tips to Keeping Your New Year's Resolutions!

We are approaching the start of a new year and along with it comes the opportunity to get a fresh start and make changes for the better. Statistics show, however, that most people will give up their resolutions by the 15th of January. In order to assure success in keeping your resolutions this coming year, follow these helpful tips:

1) Be committed. If you are not passionate about your resolution, it will affect your success.

2) Be realistic. Dropping 30 pounds in 30 days is most likely not going to happen. Instead, opt for a reasonable weight loss goal. If you see results, you are more likely to stick with it.

3) Make simple and specific resolutions. For example, instead of resolving to "eat healthier" I have resolved to "eat fruit for dessert 6 days a week." I love having ice cream in the evening, but will enjoy it only once a week in the new year. I'm not skipping dessert altogether, but making a healthier choice instead.

4) Share your goals.  The more people who know about your resolution, the better. You will have plenty of support from these people throughout the year.

Will you be making any New Year's Resolutions for 2015?

  3. These are really great tips. I find that a lot of people, including myself, make resolutions without ever following through with them.

  5. That is SO smart to be more specific than just eating healthier. I can see why that would work WAY better!

  6. I don't really make new year's resolutions every year. I tend to just make a list of goals for the year but it's not usually a "resolution." For 2015, my big goal is to achieve a better work/life balance and I've already gotten a head start on it!

  7. I love this. I tend to reach too high with my goals and just set myself up for failure! I want to try to make smaller goals that lead into big ones!

  8. These are great ways to not set the goal too high. I am trying not to set resolutions instead focusing on goals as well.

  9. These are such great tips, for New Years Resolutions and keeping them. I honestly do not make resolutions, maybe i used to but it has been so long since I have. I just prefer to revisit my goals and see where I am at with them. Other than that, I just don't do resolutions.

  10. Those definitely sound like great resolutions, I need to do these too, with 5 kids time to myself is rare. I think it's great to get recharged.
