Style, Decor & More: Go Red For Women Ladies Tea & Photo Shoot!

Go Red For Women Ladies Tea & Photo Shoot!

I'm so excited! The Go Red For Women American Heart Association Campaign is getting ready for its kick-off in February! It was a fun time last week when all of the Go Red Women (including me - yay!) had a photo shoot for the Go Red spread that will appear in the February issue of Cleveland Magazine! Clinique and Lancome were kind enough to offer complimentary makeup applications for all of the Go Red ladies. My sister, who is also Co-Chair of the Open Your Heart Committee for the Go Red Campaign, had her make-up done by Clinique, and I had my make-up done by Lancome.  A special thanks to Matthew at Lancome for applying my makeup (photo below). I don't normally wear darker lipstick shades, but Matthew applied Lancome's Red Haute Lipstick, and it's the perfect shade of red! I guess that's why he's the expert!

After the photo shoot, it was back to planning the final touches for my Go Red Ladies Tea that I was hosting at my home on Saturday.  I can't thank Mighty Leaf Tea enough for providing the ladies with an amazing assortment of delicious gourmet teas and the ladies were very impressed with the uniquely elegant pouches of loose tea. Mmmmm...soooo good, too!

My sister's neighbor who recently started a business baking the most unbelievable scones, was kind enough to make several batches for the ladies tea! Yes, they taste as good as they look!

The company is BreadnBalance and these are seriously the most delicious scones I've EVER had! Moist and full of flavor! Please contact me at (styledecor1 at gmail dot com) for more information on BreadnBalance.
Hubby was kind enough to give up his man cave for the day and find a quiet place upstairs. The tables were set and we were ready for the guests to arrive!

Look at this beautiful group of ladies who were enjoying the tea! Michelle Seifert (upper left) is a Co-Chair of the Open Your Heart Committee for the Go Red Campaign along with my sister, Marien.

It was a chilly, yet sunny day for the event. Cleveland weather can be unpredictable in November, and we were lucky to have 55 degree weather. Hubby started a fire for the ladies who wanted to step outside for a breath of fresh air. Brrrrrr....

 BJ's donated a cake for the event! Too cute! Thank you, BJ's!

My sister donated and wrapped all the mystery gifts under the silent auction Christmas tree. There were two tickets for A Christmas Carol, several lottery tickets, and hanging on the tree were $50 in gift cards!

And that's not all, below is just a sampling of the awesome gift baskets that were offered at the event!
Baskets, baskets and more baskets!

A special thank you to our wonderful sponsors! Without you, the ladies tea would not have been able to surpass its fundraising goal of $2,000. The grand total was $2,750 which makes all the hard work worth it!  Needless to say, I slept like a baby that night! {smile}

Update! CLEVELAND MAGAZINE has published its annual "Cleveland Goes Red" spread, and I'm happy and proud to be standing with these amazing and inspiring women!

GO RED!

  8. Summer is a great time of year. The weather is warm, the days are longer and many of us get to spend a week or two relaxing on holiday. machine cut rhinestones
