Style, Decor & More: This Holiday Season It's ALL About The HAIR!

This Holiday Season It's ALL About The HAIR!

Hey ladies! Have you considered what you need to glam up your look this holiday season? I know. I know. You've probably put it on the back burner because of all of your other priorities, but the holidays are here, and this year it is all about the hair! Thankfully, I have some fast and easy hair care tips to share with you, that will have you looking your best for the holidays!

The good news is Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color makes it super-easy to look your best for the holidays. Whether you want to freshen your current hair color or completely change the color of your hair, Schwarzkopf® makes it simple and easy to color your hair in the privacy of your home and at a time that is convenient for you.

What makes Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color stand in the crowd? Schwarzkopf® products date back to over 100 years ago, and they are continuously creating innovative products to improve the look and health of your hair. They hold a very impressive 7,600 patents. I am also touched by Schwarzkopf®'s dedication to empowering women by proudly sponsoring Dress for Success® with a contribution of $125,000.

Dress for Success® is an international not-for-profit organization that promotes economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a support network, and career development tools to help women thrive and succeed in work and life. I love Dress for Success® because it helps women break through the barriers! When women feel like a million bucks from head to toe, it empowers them to succeed! Over one million women have been served by this organization and its programs.

Prior to coloring my hair with Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color in Silky Blonde 8.0, I performed a patch test to make sure I didn't have an allergic reaction. After 48 hours, I was ready to begin the coloring process.

STEP 1: The porous ends of hair grab color quickly. Schwarzkopf®'s Pre-Treatment (step 1) protects the ends of hair during the coloring process and provides an even color result. I worked the pre-treatment into the ends of my hair making sure to saturate and completely cover the ends with the Pre-Treatment preparation.

Step 2: After I completed step 1, I removed the caps from the color cream (2a) and the developer lotion (2b). Using the top of the color cream cap, I punctured a hole in the top of the color cream tube, and added the color cream to the developer lotion. Note: In order to get as much of the color cream from the tube as possible, roll it from the bottom as you would a tube of toothpaste. When finished, place the developer lotion cap back on, close it tightly, and shake well.
After the color cream and developer lotion are mixed together, the cream will change color and/or darken. This process is normal.
I started the application process by adding the color to the middle part and lifting sections of my hair, applying the color to my roots until the entire scalp was covered. After applying the mixture to the roots, I worked my way down to the ends of my hair.
Step 3: After allowing the color to develop for 30 minutes, I rinsed my hair in the shower and applied the Keratin Care Complex Conditioner! The conditioner feels silky smooth and added instant hydration to my hair. Surprisingly, my hair felt softer and silkier than before I colored it! Here's a photo of my hair BEFORE using Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color...

And here is a photo AFTER using Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color. The natural blonde color looks healthier and my hair feels softer and stronger...

I'm still amazed at how easy it was to freshen my color and add healthy shine to my hair. Schwarzkopf®'s Keratin Color is an anti-age hair color with Keratin Care Complex and skin flattering pigments. I wasn't really sure what it meant until I saw my results! It means younger looking hair in 30 minutes! It also means my hair is ready for holiday parties and anything else that might come up over the next few weeks!

Add Sparkle To The Shine!
As many of you know, I love to add a touch of sparkle to everything I do, so after I colored my hair and saw the amazing shine, I decided to add more shimmer with a do-it-yourself bejeweled hair comb! The combs are super-easy to make and you can make one to match every holiday outfit in your wardrobe.

Hair Clip Tutorial
Supplies:
Scissors
Rhinestone Slider Beads ( 7 x 15mm)
Plastic Hair Comb or Barrette
Multi-purpose craft glue

The beads need a flat back in order to adhere to the hair comb.
Practice makes perfect. Before using the glue, lay out the beads to create the pattern and colors you would like on your hair comb. I added two rows of beads, but you can also use a single row of beads. Have fun and experiment with different patterns and colors!

When you decide on a pattern, one at a time, place glue on the flat back of the bead. Place the bead on the comb and follow your layout from left to right. Hold each bead for a few seconds before adding the next bead. If you make a mistake, simply remove or slide the bead into position. The bead will stay in place after a few seconds, but will not begin to set for at least 10 minutes. Allow to completely set for at least 24 hours.

The embellished and versatile combs can be used to pull back hair or arranged into any hairstyle. I was going to wear my hair in a bun for the holidays, but after coloring my hair, I decided to leave my hair down and show the pretty color and shine.

To create a holiday pouf, I gathered a 5" diameter section of hair from the top, rear of my head. I teased (back combed) the underside of my hair near the root and used hair spray to create lift. I allowed the hair spray to dry a few seconds before lightly brushing the top. (Try to avoid brushing the teased and sprayed section underneath the hair.) I gathered the section of hair, smoothed the pouf, and placed the comb near the base to hold it in place.

Thanks to Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color, I'm super-excited and ready for the holiday parties to begin! What about you? Is your hair holiday ready? Schwarkopf® Keratin Color can help you cover unwanted gray hair, add brilliant color and shine, and improve the overall look of your hair.

Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color can be found at your local Walmart. The hair color is conveniently located in the same hair care product aisle as shampoos & conditioners! You can't miss it! Also, don't miss your chance to try any Schwarzkopf® hair care or hair color product FREE with their TRY ME FREE REBATE! Click the link for more details!

  Happy Holidays!

 xoxo,

    1. Thanks, Super Mom! You're probably still too young to need anti-aging hair color, but the keratin is awesome for shiny, youthful looking hair. (Especially for the 50+ club that I joined a few years ago...lol)

  18. Pretty color! This brand is something I always eye on whenever I do get to buy dye to do my hair...haven't tried it though...to think that Schwarzkopf means black head: literally me since my hair is too dark, so I always get blonde but ends up with brown. :D I might try this one so I could actually get a lighter tone. The Keratin is a big bonus.

  20. December and January are two months I see many people glamming up. December for year-end parties and January for a fresh start. Coloring the hair is one of the simplest and easiest ways to achieve this.

  21. I didn't know that about the ends of the hair. I love the clip tutorial and will be giving it a try in my own hair.
