The weather is warming up and it's time to put away heavy throws and earth-colored pillows and welcome spring into your home with bright and fresh decor! We've put together a list of budget-friendly decorating tips that will make it easier than ever to bring a little spring indoors without breaking the bank.

1. Plants & Flowers. Use a brightly colored vase (or vases) with greenery as a centerpiece on a kitchen table, kitchen island, or a family room coffee table. The room will instantly feel fresher! If you can't find a colorful vase, opt for fresh cut fruit in a glass vase. The citrusy color will light up the room. Ferns are a budget-friendly option to fill larger spaces.

2. Spring-Colored Pillows. Placing colorful pillows and perhaps a light-colored throw on the sofa will make the room inviting. Who can resist a sofa that is beckoning you to sit down, get cozy and relax?

3. Artwork. Fresh artwork is a fun and easy way to brighten and make a statement in a room. While artwork can be costly, if you make it yourself or shop thrift stores or TJMaxx, you will be surprised at the beautiful art you can find for less. For those of you who enjoy a DIY project, painting ceiling medallions and hanging them on a bare wall will completely transform a room. Painted medallions not only add a pop of color, they add texture and interest to a room. The urethane discs are also lightweight and easy to hang too! !

4. Table or Kitchen Linens. Sometimes all you need to freshen your space in the kitchen is a table runner, placemats or tablecloth. Try coordinating a table runner with kitchen towels to complete a spring look for your kitchen. Small changes, such as a colorful runner, can be substantial when using fresh, bright colors!

5. Paint.  A gallon of paint goes a long way in transforming a space. Painting is not always the easiest project to undertake, but it makes a big impact with little expense. Before selecting a paint color, be sure to have three accessories in the room that will coordinate with your paint color selection. This will make your room feel complete. (See first photo and the photo below).

6. Window Treatments. Freshen your room with light and airy window treatments. Use a solid, striped or floral-pattern Roman shade to turn a window view into a framed work of art. If you need privacy, window treatments are a terrific way to add color and style

7. Wall Decals. Peel-and-stick wall decals are a quick and easy update for any wall surface. It can serve as a mural backdrop for a collection of framed family photos or stand alone as a statement in the room.

One last item! Don't forget hubby! My husband loves to play video games, but the computer area where he plays his games looks like a mess. Check out what I found for him. Isn't it great?:
